Tiffani Dusang, MSN, RN, CFN
Tiffani Dusang is a Certified Forensic Nurse Examiner with KB Education & Consulting. As a Registered Nurse for the last 23 years, Tiffani has concentrated the majority of her practice in Emergency/Trauma Nursing and Forensic Nursing. As a Forensic Nurse Examiner for 13 years, Tiffani provides care to victims of interpersonal violence, participates in the training of forensic nurses and has helped facilitate an improved standard of care for victims of sexual assault and interpersonal violence throughout Houston and surrounding counties. Furthermore, she provides comprehensive adult and pediatric education on the medical/forensic exam process and forensic evidence recognition, collection and preservation for the new forensic nurse, medical professionals, and developing forensic nursing programs. Throughout the state of Texas, Tiffani currently provides comprehensive education on strangulation for medical colleagues, attorneys and local law enforcement agencies. In addition, she provides expert witness consultation and testimony in the area of strangulation, smothering, domestic violence and sexual assault for local Texas counties.
Jana French, MS, BSN, RN, SANE-A
Jana French is the Nursing Director for District of Columbia Forensic Nurse Examiners (DCFNE).
As the Nursing Director, Jana manages a staff of forensic nurses, including training and credentialing, clinical supervision, quality assurance and program development. In her clinical role, Jana treats victims of attempted homicide, sexual assault, intimate partner violence and elder abuse. Additionally, Jana continues to work as an emergency department nurse with MedStar Washington Hospital Center, a Level 1 trauma center and the busiest emergency department in the District of Columbia.
She is recognized as an expert on forensic nursing, serving as an expert witness for criminal prosecutions, conducting nationwide trainings for healthcare professionals, and representing forensic nursing on various advisory boards. She was certified as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner in 2011 and received her Master of Science in Forensic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2014.
Jana is active in the forensic nursing community and has served on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Forensic Nurses and currently, as the President of the Maryland-Washington D.C. chapter of the International Association of Forensic Nurses. As an APU School of Nursing graduate with over a decade of clinical experience, Jana has dedicated her career to the advancement of forensic nursing as a healthcare specialty. She is passionate about decreasing the healthcare consequences of violence and improving patient recovery.
